This year, I’m not setting just one New Year’s resolution—I’m creating a list. I believe a list is more achievable because it allows progress in multiple areas at once. If I set ten goals and complete all of them, that’s amazing. If I complete eight, that’s still real growth. Either way, I’m improving my life.
1.) Removing TV From My Life
TV has been one of the biggest ways I waste time. Every time I get home, I turn it on to relax, but it usually turns into hours lost. Over time, I believe it’s dulled my focus and motivation. By removing TV from my life, I’m aiming to become more productive, more present, and mentally sharper.
2.) Quitting Soda
Soda has been a lifelong habit for me, and it’s caught up to me. I now suffer from GERD, and I believe soda has also contributed to my sleep problems. Switching to water won’t be easy, but it’s necessary. This change will improve my physical health, mental clarity, and overall quality of life.
3.) Improving My Nutrition
My eating habits have always been poor. I rely heavily on junk food and whatever is easiest. This year, I want to learn how to cook and meal prep properly. Eating real, nutritious food will support both my mental and physical health and give me more control over my life.
4.) My Fitness
I want to get back into shape. As I work on quitting bad habits and building better ones, fitness feels like a natural and essential step. I miss outdoor activities like rock climbing and kayaking—things I could do easily when I was healthier. Improving my fitness will strengthen my body, confidence, and mental resilience.
5.) Learning to Program
I know some programming basics, but I want to go much deeper. I want to build real websites and mobile apps. Programming feels like magic—once you understand it, you can create tools that improve your life and even generate income. I already have ideas for projects that could make life easier and potentially make money.
6.) Transportation
Right now, my only transportation is walking and my bicycle. My goal is to expand my options, starting with an electric bike. From there, I want to save for a motorcycle. A motorcycle would allow me to take on side hustles, earn more income, and eventually work toward owning a car and then a truck.
7.) My Career
I haven’t fully decided on a long-term career yet, but I do know one thing: I want to at least double my income, which is currently around $25,000 a year. I’m open to taking any opportunity that moves me forward—jobs, side hustles, and passive income streams like affiliate marketing and digital projects.
8.) Paying Off My Debt
By the end of 2026, I want to be completely debt-free. I owe money to utility companies and schools, and before I can think about buying a home, I need to clear that weight and rebuild my credit. My goal is to enter 2027 financially positive, stable, and ready to work toward homeownership.
9.) Bible Reading
Reading the Bible every day will be a strong foundation for my life. I want to continue growing closer to my Lord and connecting with others who are on the same path. Daily Scripture will help guide my decisions, strengthen my morals, and keep my outlook on life positive and grounded.
10.) Reading One Book a Month
Reading one book a month will help exercise my mind and keep me learning consistently. Many successful people credit reading as a key habit for growth and clarity. While some read two or more books a month, my goal is to start with one and build the discipline. Progress matters more than perfection.
